Cops hot on heels of Subang yttJaya burglar..............

SUBANG JAYA: USJ residents can rest assured that the police are taking every necessary measure to hunt down a burglar who escaped a police patrol recently, says Comm Datuk Abdul Samah Mat.

The Selangor police chief said that the police had mobilised a team to track down the suspect and arrest the suspect.

"We haven't made any arrests but we are carrying out investigations to track him down.

"The residents in the area have nothing to worry about. We have the situation under control," he assured.

At least three shots were fired when policemen were in a vehicular pursuit of a man who broke into a house at USJ13/5B at 8.05am Monday.

The suspect had rammed into the patrol car in his bid to escape, and police retaliated by shooting at his car. However, the suspect managed to flee the scene.

The suspect, who was wearing a black shirt and white pants, abandoned his car by the roadside near a school in USJ12 and ran towards the houses in the residential area.

Comm Samah said police were developing a photofit of the suspect.

"The car he was driving was reported stolen in Shah Alam in 2015.

"Efforts to track him down are ongoing. So far, there is only one suspect involved in the case," he noted.

The victims lost about RM2,000 in the burglary.
